Why the recent drop in blockchain popularity is a good thing

You might have been thinking… Oh poor guy. You may want to ask me, is everything ok?

Why? Because the recent public and media non-interest on the crypto space made the majority of people think that the community is dead, that crypto is dead, and it was the last bubble that burst and now is slowly fading away.

Only few people realizes that these are the best times for evolving the technology. These are the times where the developers are fully focused on researching, testing and deploying new protocol improvements or other higher level projects.

Imagine being a developer last year during the big rally. Phone ringing every day with people that want to meet get coffee to ask questions about this crypto revolution or simply to have a discussion. Don’t get me wrong, I love that, and I truly enjoyed spending a lot of time with entrepreneurs or other professionals explaining how the system works and how their ideas could be implemented by following this new paradigm.

It is also the reason why I started this blog, I wanted to cut thru the media lies and stories and deliver scientific, engineering-based content about cryptocurrencies to as many people as possible. Just as if you would sit with me at a table while I figure out how this mix of technologies work.

The hype finished, so instead of spending time explaining etc, I had simply more time to develop side projects, read more technical concepts and so on. Unfortunately I stopped writing and probably it will be hard to resume the same pace as before, but I’ll make sure to deliver some golden nugger whenever I get the chance.

Many are expecting another rally this year. I am not so sure, usually takes time to recover from a big spike.. Unless there is a big media coverage exploding all of a sudden, because at the end of the day crypto is a market that can be manipulated to a certain extent.

Let’s keep enjoying this silence, it is so easy to focus on big technical advancements without noises and crazy notifications. What technical advancements I am referring to? Well, basically scalability, security and UI/UX together with all the plethora of practical sub-aspects that come with them.

Remember that bitcoin and the other few established major crypto coins are all open source, so many many developers worldwide are quietly improving the technology by contributing lines and lines of code every day. Working with such technologies is really fun because it’s literally the newest frontier of the evolution of the internet, and it’s something anyone can do just by owning a simple non-fancy computer and a desk.

Hope you enjoyed this shorter, more spontaneous article, nothing crazy techincal just some opinions on what’s going on. Comments are always pleasantly welcome if you want to share your thoughts too.
