About the author
Federico De Faveri
I’m a software engineer. I started BlockChain Lion in 2017 to understand blockchains properly, past the headlines, by explaining them in plain language. By 2019 the explanations had turned into a lab notebook: I was signing raw transactions by hand, running my own Ethereum node and shipping a small notary dApp, then writing down what broke.
The blog went quiet after that while I built things for clients. In 2026 I moved it off WordPress and started reviewing the old posts with a security engineer’s eyes. Corrections are marked in each post, and the mistakes, including a real bug in my own contract, are becoming new posts.
What I do now
I run De Faveri Consulting, a technology consultancy in Miami. The work this blog is closest to:
- Smart contract audits: Solidity reviewed by hand, ranked findings and a re-check after you fix them.
- Security audits of websites, apps, cloud and email.
- MVP to production: turning a prototype into software you can run a business on.
- Fractional CTO work for founders carrying every technical decision alone.

How this blog works
Posts from 2017 to 2019 are kept as written, with notes where facts have changed or I got something wrong. Consulting links point to my own company; see thedisclosure.
